RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes time study of production operations and analyzes/compiles the results into labor standards used to measure efficiency, calculate labor cost, and specify production capacity.

  • Works with a cross-functional team including operations, maintenance, and quality to identify waste within the production process and implement new methods to reduce operating costs. Analyzes data from Operations Management Tool (OMT), our internal efficiency measurement software, and uses the findings to direct continuous improvement efforts.

  • Identifies opportunities to execute capital projects that improve efficiency/yield and/or reduce labor cost. Recommends projects to leadership for inclusion in the annual Capital Budget. Works cross-functionally to execute approved projects, including tasks such as plant layout optimization and selection of the optimal equipment solution.

  • Compiles and analyzes historical labor performance data and uses this information to build forward-looking standard labor costs using the QAD accounting software.

  • Completes ergonomic analysis of plant and office jobs then identifies and implements solutions to improve employee safety.

  • Applies a high degree of product knowledge and problem-solving skills to provide the company direction to improve efficiency and production capability to maximize profitability.

  • Provides training and development for lower-level Industrial Engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical field.

  • 2 years of successful Industrial Engineering experience.

  • A pattern of initiative.

  • Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

  • An understanding of the DMAIC process and ability to use these skills for continuous improvement.

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or will obtain within two years of being awarded this position.

  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

The base pay range for this position $81,000 to $105,000 per year; however, actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills set, level of experience, and specific office location.
