Hormel Foods Corporation Fontanini Foods LLC- Quality Control Auditor 2nd Shift in McCook, Illinois

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

Perform routine quality and/or finished product auditing. Examples of assigned duties include quality checks, code date and label verification, packaging line auditing, VJ swabbing. Perform a variety of required tests on finished product. Responsible for maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense and HACCP. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED .

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Attention to detail and good record keeping is essential. Must possess the ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. The ability to stand/walk for 8 to 12 hour periods. The ability to handle samples and operate laboratory equipment. The ability to make mathematical computations. The ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form. Must be able to work overtime and weekends on short notice as business needs dictate.

EQUIPMENT:

Various hand tools, air tools and electronic checking devices, Calculator, Water Activity Machine, Thermometer and Ruler Calculations

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Industrial manufacturing (Non-Office)- refrigerated and non-refrigerated. Some areas are Non-Climate controlled warehouse. Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

· Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report all hazards to their Supervisor and Human Resources immediately · Must be able to understand and apply basic food and industrial safety terminology such as HACCP, GMP, OSHA

PREFERRED:

Associates degree in administrative or technical field

Minimum of 1 year verifiable Quality Control experience in a food processing and or manufacturing environment.
