The work schedule for this position is 5 days on 2 days off, the days off rotate. Start time is 6:00 a.m. and end time is whenever the job is done for the day (varies).

MANDATORY SHOWER UPON ENTERY TO FARM
RESPONSIBILITES:
The person in this position:
Must understand and demonstrate farm Bio-Security requirements.
Must understand and demonstrate correct animal handling techniques at all times.
Must understand and demonstrate safe and efficient power washing techniques.
Must understand and demonstrate the need for correct methods of medication handling and storage.
Must understand and demonstrate correct methods of treating and vaccinating all animals of all ages.
Must understand and demonstrate all aspects of processing piglets including castration.
Must understand and demonstrate general housekeeping and sanitation skills.
Must understand and demonstrate under direct supervision semen handling, heat checking, and artificial insemination techniques.
Must understand and demonstrate correct methods of euthanasia of animals.
Must understand and demonstrate correct methods of dead animal disposal.
Must have the ability to withstand higher levels of noise, dust, animal dander, and odors associated with livestock on a daily basis.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Must NOT own swine.
Must be able to follow safe work practices.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Must be able to stand on concrete for up to 9 hours a day wearing rubber boots, stepping in and out of pens.
Must be able to squat/kneel to the floor, grip small objects with ease and twist at least 45 degrees.
Must be responsive to visible signs of animal discomfort.
