CDL TRUCK DRIVER I - Las Animas, Co.

$18.00/hr.

FULL TIME

This position is responsible for daily movement of swine and/or feed under the direction of the Transportation Manager. Dailly cleaning and disinfecting to meet bio-security protocols and vaccinating of weaned piglets.

Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Dependable individual who is willing to work the weekends and holidays. Must work and promote safety daily and in all aspects. This position requires a Class A-Commercial Driver’s License and is subject to random drug testing to include marijuana.

The work schedule for this position is 5 days on 2 days off, determined by the manager. Start time is 6:00 am

and end time is whenever the job is done for the day (varies).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Basic mechanical skills.

· Requires a current, valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License

· Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.

· Flexible and able to respond quickly to changing job demands.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for the accurate delivery of product to the appropriate customer.

· Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner.

· Responsible for the safe operation of company equipment according to applicable state and federal laws.

· Maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License.

· Report all damage to company equipment.

· Responsible for pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

· Other duties as assigned.

A position that is responsible for daily movement of nursery pigs, and gilts under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor.

Essential Functions:

  1. Must take an active role in safety program including following safety procedures, enforcement of policy and continued training.

  2. Must have and be able to maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.

  3. Meet company expectations for attendance at work and punctuality.

  4. Follow all rules and procedures from both the employee handbook and direct rules and procedures from supervisor.

  5. Must attend all mandatory meetings and trainings.

  6. Must maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers.

  7. Understand and demonstrate farm Bio-Security Requirements.

  8. Must be able to tolerate blood, animal dander, manure, dust, odors and frequently noisy conditions.

  9. Must be able to climb over, under and around in stock trailers.

  10. Must be able to push, pull, drag, and work in tight leaned over or squatted positions.

  11. Must be able to do basic math and record accurate records.

  12. Excellent animal husbandry skills.

  13. Ability to understand and acquire technical skills.

  14. Must be receptive to constructive criticism by co-workers and supervisors.

  15. Perform all required duties in a timely manner.

Job Qualifications:

  • Cleaning and disinfecting equipment to meet Bio-Security protocol.

  • Responsible for pre and post trip vehicle inspections.

  • Responsible for reporting any damage to company equipment.

  • Accurate pickup and delivery of animals to the appropriate location.

Must not live with anyone who has contact with swine.

Must not own any swine.
