The person in this position:
Oversees the maintenance of all work papers and reports required for periodic consolidation process and implements changes as necessary to accommodate new accounting requirements.
Provides oversight in the preparation of internal and external financial reports, including all of the reports required to be filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), and various reports to the Board of Directors.
Ensures compliance with SEC, FASB and other regulations.
Coordinates the annual plan and five year strategic plan, which is presented to the CEO & CFO.
Assists Hormel's external auditors in their audit of the Hormel parent company and its subsidiaries. This includes answering questions they may have regarding transactions, accounts, and reports, providing them with financial information and back-up documentation required to complete the audit timely.
Provides to management and the Board of Directors consolidated financial reports, accurately and on the established timeline.
A bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in general accounting.
Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
The ability to work in a team environment on a variety of complex projects.
Well-developed interpersonal, organizational skills and analytical skills.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Strong ability to present to and negotiate with the customer.
Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
